•September 19, 2011 • Leave a CommentI have this profound love toward owls growing inside of me. It started when I first saw these owls up close in The Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS). I’ve seen photos of owls and I know some friends of mine love owls, but I never quite understood.
I looked at these owls and I still wonder…These owls at VINS, they looked lonely and one could see wisdom in their eyes. Maybe the loneliness comes from missing their family, loved ones…home. It must be just as hard for a bird who has grown up in the wild, spend the rest of its life in a cage as it is for a human to loose their freedom. The wisdom I saw in the eyes of those owls I believe comes from the experience they’ve had in the wild, losing it and having had to adapt to it quickly. No wonder owls symbolize wisdom ;). They are said to have the ability to see the things that are hidden (not in a game of peek-a-boo) as well as being the symbols for dreams, freedom, secrets, just to name a few…
well…and I personally think they look freakin cute as a bonus to all these interesting stories about them!
